Traditional Bento for Temple Monks

Bentos have a long history in Japan from the tradtional:

• Makunouchi Bento (served in elegant lacquered boxes), to

• Konbini (convenience store) Bentos.

Dive into a world 300 years ago when the temple monks focused on portable, vegetarian meals which did not involve the killing of animals.
