Peter and the Wolf is a musical fairytale by Sergei Prokofiev. Composed in 1936, it still resonates with audiences today.
As well as being a well-loved story, it also educates. Instruments of the orchestra are introduced to the audience by attributing them to specific characters and animals in the story.
The clear melodies are composed in Prokofiev's distinctive style and brought to life by a symphony orchestra accompanying the narrator as he tells the story of Peter and his encounter with the wolf.
A treat for young and old alike.
