The EU: renewal or collapse?
Europe struggles to exist on the world stage today in the face of Donald Trump's United States, China, and emerging powers. Can it still claim to be an autonomous geopolitical power? With the pressures of the digital and ecological transition, with the disastrous consequences of anti-Russian sanctions, will its economic model withstand global competition?
The EU still has assets: an advanced social and democratic model, as well as a recognized force for innovation. But the rise of populism, migration crises and conflicts between Member States are undermining European cohesion. On the military level, Europe remains dependent on NATO and Washington, due to the lack of a common defense.
Europe is at a turning point: should it deepen its integration, strengthen its independence, or witness its decline? This debate invites us to reflect on the decisive choices that will shape its future.
